“The Second Sons are the best thing to happen to rock n roll since Booker T fell in with the MG’s. I absolutely love their new songs. While being just about as old as Elvis, it’s also entirely and excitingly brand new. It drives like a freight train and punches like a very young Mike Tyson. In a bleak and strange time — I write from the middle of America — this band gives me hope for the republic of rock n roll.”

Nominated “Best Rock Act” – UMA’s 2018, Second Sons rose to international acclaim in 2016 after making their debut in May of the same year at TimeOut Magazine’s “Rising Stars”.  The Second Sons released their debut single “Best of Me” – featuring the late and legendary Bobby Keys – in mid 2016 which was followed by the band’s electrifying collaboration with iconic record producer Chris Kimsey on their single “Can’t You See” – both of which have been featured on BBC Introducing London and have enjoyed radio support internationally.  The Second Sons were also featured in a twelve-page exclusive debut article in international men’s lifestyle and fashion magazine, Jocks and Nerds, titled “The band that may just save rock ‘n’ roll” with copy and interview by Hamish MacBain (former NME).

The Second Sons recently provided direct support to Greta Van Fleet on their latest sold out UK tour (March/April 2018) including sold out performances at the O2 Islington Academy in London, Institute 2 in Birmingham and Academy 3 in Manchester.  The band have also performed numerous dates in the UK and Europe, including dual performances at the 2016 Isle Of Wight Festival and a mainstage performance at the 2016 Gibraltar Music Festival held in Victoria Stadium.

“Full of bravado with a swagger that would knock you dead at twenty paces, I would define them as a cross between the bastard love children of The Rolling Stones, James Brown and Iggy and the Stooges… If you want a band to believe in, a band that can revitalise what I feel is a bit of a fledgling music scene at the moment, get along to one of their shows, you can thank me later….”

“Every now and then along comes a band that see magic in the old ways, is seduced by the sound of music without the layers of technology that get in the way of great songs, and who are also talented musicians. The Second Sons are just such a band, one that revels in the past but with a modernity that makes their music fresh and alive.”

“The Second Sons end their set on a high with an emphatic rendition of “Can’t You See”; with its funky blues grooves and the crowd clapping and singing along, it starts to feel reminiscent to a scene from the Blues Brothers movie. The crowd most certainly enjoys the set with the band leaving the stage to rapturous applause.”

“The Second Sons have bottled the verve and gusto of ‘proper’ 70s bands, and hit you with a killer wall of sound: the beefy drive of the rhythm section, the trenchant twin-guitar attack, meaty sax and powerful laddish vocals defy you to stay still…When it comes to Good Time, adrenaline-fuelled entertainment The Second Sons are second to none…”
